Paired Reading in the Library (6)

We have had a couple of visits from first class in a local primary school.  Although we had done a few weeks of practising reading picture books with classmates, some of our second years were still quite nervous before the first class pupils visited. However by the end of the first visit most of them had visibly relaxed and were looking forward to the next visit. Their teacher had sent us information regarding their reading levels and what they were interested in and we had paired them all up accordingly. They read a few pictures books each in their pairs and then did some colouring and jigsaws. For their second visit on we presented each of them with a gift of a book for World Book Day and did a Kahoot quiz with them which was lots of fun. Well done to the 2nd year class who worked with them so well.
