First Year Boys East Leinster "b" Basketball Semi Final
Larkin CC 38 v 24 St Benildus

In front of a packed Larkin Sports Hall our first year boys put on a performance of sheer pride Passion and heart as they powered their way to victory over a talented St. Benildus. The game was nip and tuck throughout with our lads only pulling away in the final stages and the score line does not reflect the tension of the tie.
Our First quarter five of Desmod, Mel, Huming, Taylor and Anthony worked extremely well defensively in limiting the Benildus lads to six points. Strong offensive play from Rabadan saw him add four points to the board with Wang and Omigiu also adding a basket each to see the lads lead 8-6 at the quarter end.
Our second quarter five of Luke, Nathan, Sebastian, Gracjan and Martin flew out of the blocks and and some fine long range passes from kearns resulted in break away baskets for ,Bobko ang Hogan. Kearns himself added6 points to see the Larkin Lads lead by 8 at the half.
A strong third quarter showing from Bobko, Kearns and Chiceaudean saw the lads enter the final stretch with a 12 point lead at 30-18. 
It was then that the Benildus lads stepped it up with a strong showing from point guard D Harte and shooting guard R Byrne. With four minutes remaining the gap had been reduced to 6 but Chicuadean and Bobko once again came to the fore with help from Daza to steady the ship and regain a foothold that they would not relinquish.  The lads now play in the East Leinster final in the Oblates Hall at 10am on Tuesday. once again we couldn't ask for any more from this amazing group of young men.
