6th Year Art Trip to Hugh Lane Art Gallery (20)
6th year students went to Hugh Lane Gallery as part of their studies in the History of Art.
They had a wonderful guide who talked about the gallery and the paintings on display.
The students got to view and experience the wonderful stain glass work of Harry Clarke. They viewed the Impressionist paintings by Claude Monet, Pierre - Auguste Renoir and Berthe Morisot. They experienced the Francis Bacon studio and his paintings and the work of Louis Le Brocquy.
Competition time!
The students decided to re-enact a painting with a modern twist in class. (last photograph) A painting the viewed in the Hugh Lane Gallery. The first student to Mrs McKenzie's Art room to name the artist and painting that the 6th year students have re-enacted will receive a prize. Good luck.
