Basketball News Week Beginning 13th of November (9)

U19 Boys

Massive hard luck to our under 19 boys bball team who unfortunately fell to a 67-50 defeat to a strong Adamstown CC in the East Leinster Quarter final. As always the lads fought until the bitter end showing great pride in representing Larkin College. What these lads have achieved over the past 5 years in our college has been nothing short of remarkable. Plenty of life long memories and new friendships have been created from their involvement in basketball. Well done to all and keep the heads high.. We are extremely proud of every one of you for your effort over the years.

U16 Girls

Hard luck to our under 16 girls bball team who fell to a tough defeat away to Gortnor Abbey. The girls started slowly and trailed by 16 after the first quarter. They came back strong in the remainder showing their true selves to lose out by 14 in the end.. Samantha Kerrigan had her best game of the season playing tough defence and scoring 6. Amran Maxamad gave her all and was solid in the defensive end. Rose Mesquita once again finished top scorer with an impressive 12 points. Alicia Jadia was great on offence chipping in with 4 points and Maja Miedjeko was impressive on point. Attention now turns to the Leinster League quarter final which takes place next week.

Our under 16 girls bball team have been drawn to play Loreto Dalkey in the East Leinster Quarter final, while our under 19 girls have been drawn to play Rathdown. Dates and times are to be confirmed.
