Reading Challenge Winners
Our 6 Week Reading Challenge ended yesterday on World Book Day, March 7th. Class 102 (Mr Moorhouse and Ms Gavin’s English class) were the overall winners and we will celebrate with a Pizza Party pizza next Friday. Individuals across all classes who have been working hard will get prizes and some will get to go on an adventure trip in May.
The TOP TEN points earners went on a trip to Trinity Libraries and afterwards to The Buttery for some treats with Ms Neill and Jenny.
World Book Day Celebrations
As part of our World Book Day celebrations we had poet Colm Keegan work with studetns on Wednesday and then do a Creative Writing Workshop with staff in the afternoon.
We also had some Book Doctors in the library during lunchtime on Thursday where lots of books were discussed and prescribed by our Book Doctors. Students and staff seemed very happy with their book recommendations. Thanks to the staff & students and author Rod Smith who spent their lunch break recommending books.
Well done again to Class 102 particularly and all the students and staff for all your hard work.
Author Rod Smith discussed creativity, music, writing and publishing in Larkin Library on Thursday with students interested in Creative Writing.
