Premiere of You, Me and Those Before Me (12)
Our Arts Development Programme are beyond excited to share with you all, our film production of 'You, Me and Those Before Me' which will have its offical premiere in L.C.C tomorrow morning @9.30am!
Originally, this original piece had been intended for stage, with a performance in Smock Alley Theatre scheduled for April 2020. However, due to the Covid 19 Pandemic, students decided to alter the project and change it to a more viable, film format!
You, Me & Those Before Me endeavours to explore themes of discrimination, racism and sexism which are still issues students unfortunately have to contend with in their everyday lives.
As part of the initiative Arts students also devised an accompanying workbook for this film, which we will ask each year group to complete upon viewing. We hope that by answering the questions posed, students will really be able to reflect on the realities felt by communities within Ireland today!
We would like to take the opportunity to thank Creative Ireland for their generosity in funding this important initiative. A further thanks goes to World Wise Global Schools who helped inform students on global issues which had a huge impact on our initial script. We would also like to thank The Gaiety School of Acting who assisted us greatly in the early stages of the project.
Lastly, a big shout out to George Griffin for being our absolute superstar videographer!
We really hope you all enjoy watching the piece as much as we enjoyed making it!
