Darkness into Light 2025
This morning, as the sun began to rise over the Phoenix Park, a group of senior cycle students from Larkin took part in the annual Darkness Into Light walk — a powerful event that raises awareness and funds for suicide prevention and mental health support services.
The early morning start didn’t dampen the students’ spirits. Surrounded by a community of walkers, they joined thousands across the country and the world in showing solidarity with those impacted by suicide and self-harm. The atmosphere was one of reflection, hope and unity, as each step taken represented support for people who may be struggling.
Staff at Larkin expressed immense pride in the students’ participation, noting the empathy, strength and sense of community they demonstrated throughout the morning. By showing up in the darkness to walk toward the light, these students embodied the core message of the event — that there is always hope and help. Well done to everyone involved, especially our Amber Flag team for organising.
