Transition Year Students Complete Exciting 3 Week Work Experience through P-Tech Programme

As part of the innovative P-TECH programme, Transition Year students recently completed an exciting and enriching three week work experience with a range of leading industry partners. This programme, designed to bridge the gap between education and the world of work, gave students the unique opportunity to explore careers in technology, business, law, media, and more.

Students were welcomed by a host of generous and supportive partner organisations: Irish Life, Uisce Éireann, Virgin Media, Cisco, SAS Institute, Irish Rail, A&L Goodbody and Deloitte. Each company offered students real world insight into their operations, along with hands on project work and invaluable mentorship from industry professionals.

The experience culminated in a vibrant Showcase Event at the Gresham Hotel, where students presented the projects they had worked on during their placements. Attended by company representatives, school staff and proud families, the event was a testament to the creativity, commitment, and talent of all involved.

A special congratulations to Sixth Year student Dominique, who acted as the compere for the event, guiding the evening with poise and professionalism.

Students expressed heartfelt thanks to the partner organisations and mentors who made the programme possible. The experience not only broadened their understanding of various industries but also inspired many to think more deeply about their future career paths.

This P-Tech initiative continues to show how powerful collaboration between schools and industry can be, providing students with opportunities that empower, educate and excite.
