Congratulations to Past Students Maya and Rachelle who Received the Sr. Margherita Rock Bursary

Congratulations to past students Maya and Rachelle from the class of 2026 who today received the Sr. Margherita Rock Bursary from the Director of Mission, Dolores Heery in the Mater Hospital.

This bursary supports young people who are seeking a career in healthcare. The  bursary provides financial and invaluable practical support to young people as they kick-start their college journey who live or go to school in the local community.

This bursary was established by the Office of Mission Effectiveness Office in honour of Sr. Margherita Rock (1937 –2019), a social worker and healthcare leader who dedicated her life to the care of children and vulnerable communities.

This bursary intends to continue Sr. Margherita’s vision of supporting young people by raising educational aspirations and fostering community health and wellbeing.

Huge thank you to Dolores Heery, Mia Leddy (Mater Hospital) and David Smyth (NEIC) for taking time out of their busy schedules to meet with the students today.

We would like to take the opportunity to wish Maya and Rachelle the very best of luck with their studies.
