Fireside Chat With Poet Paula Meehan

Students and staff enjoyed a memorable afternoon in the school library as acclaimed poet Paula Meehan joined for a special fireside chat. The event offered a valuable opportunity for English Leaving Cert students to engage directly with one of the poets featured on their course.

During the session, Michelle and April led an insightful interview, exploring Paula Meehan’s childhood in Dublin 1, her journey as a poet and the inspirations behind her work. She also spoke about her experience as one of the few living poets studied on the Leaving Cert curriculum, giving students meaningful insight to support their studies.

The event created a warm and engaging atmosphere and proved to be a special occasion for all who attended. A huge thanks to everyone involved with organising this event and to Paula Meehan for joining us!
