Positive Mental Health Week 2025
This week, we celebrated Positive Mental Health Week, with a wide range of activities aimed at promoting wellbeing, mindfulness, and self care throughout the school community.
Each day offered students the chance to take part in meaningful activities, from listening to favourite music and going for walks, to reflecting on positive moments and showing kindness to others. Across the week, SPHE classes explored lessons on positive mental health, while Transition Year students shared positive quotes around the school and staff sent JCSP postcards to students.
On Wednesday, students from the LCA programme presented to first years on wellbeing and mental health, while the Hygiene Hub kindly donated hygiene and beauty products for students to take home, a gesture that reinforced the importance of self care and confidence.
Thursday featured two inspiring workshops led by Judith from The Shona Project, supported by McCann Fitzgerald. Second and third year students explored themes of confidence, positive mindset, kindness, and goal setting, gaining valuable advice on managing stress and recognising the positive influences in their lives.
Throughout the week, students also enjoyed mindfulness activities such as meditation sessions, silent lunches and creative projects like the Mental Health Quilt. The week concluded with Relationship Keepers distributing positive mental health stickers on Friday morning and a social media video celebrating the theme of positivity and connection.
Positive Mental Health Week was a fantastic success, reminding everyone to take time for themselves, connect with others and prioritise wellbeing every day. A huge thank you to our wellbeing team for organising.
