Sixth Year Art Students Visit the National Museum of Ireland

As part of their visual studies for the Leaving Certificate Art examination, Sixth Year Art students recently enjoyed an educational visit to the National Museum of Ireland – Archaeology. This enriching trip gave students the opportunity to explore Ireland’s pre-Christian past, with a particular focus on the Stone Age, Bronze Age and Iron Age.

During the visit, students examined a wide range of archaeological artefacts and learned how early Irish societies lived, worked and expressed themselves visually.

The group was expertly guided through the museum and we would like to extend our sincere thanks to the museum guide and staff for their knowledge and warm welcome. Their insights brought the exhibits to life and greatly enhanced the learning experience.

This visit was an excellent example of how learning can be extended beyond the classroom, allowing students to engage directly with Ireland’s rich cultural and artistic heritage in a real world setting.
