Stand Up Day 2024: Celebrating Inclusion

Today, our school community came together to celebrate Stand Up Day 2024, a day dedicated to promoting inclusion, empowerment and unity. At Larkin CC, we work hard each day to create a safe environment where every student feels valued, respected and free to express their true selves.

The goals for Stand Up Day this year include reinforcing our commitment to inclusion, empowering and celebrating LGBTQ+ individuals within our community and taking a strong stand against LGBTQ+ related bullying.

Throughout the week, a range of engaging activities are taking place across the school to promote understanding and inclusion. Some of the highlights include: Library classes dedicated to Stand Up themes, a poster competition and a book display in the library, SPHE classes focusing on Stand Up Week themes and a special dance workshop for 2nd years, Heartstopper screenings in tutor classes, ‘Inclusion’ as our Word of the Week and Shoutout talks to inspire and educate.

We are proud to see our students and staff embrace this important cause as we work together to make Larkin CC an even more welcoming and inclusive community.
