World Mental Health Day - October 10th - Celebrating Kindness
In recognition of World Mental Health Day on Thursday, October 10th, our school organised a series of events focused on the theme of Kindness. Throughout the week, students and staff participated in activities aimed at promoting mental health awareness, kindness, and wellbeing.
Highlights include pop-up meditations, kindness-themed projects like the “Kindness Quilt” and art pieces. We also had a special visit from Jigsaw Ireland. Students also engaged in discussions around mental health through the “5 a Day for Mental Health” program and the “One Good Adult” initiative. Positive affirmations were distributed on Thursday morning to all students and staff as they arrived at school.
The week culminated with the Amber Flag Ceremony on Thursday, where we celebrate our community’s commitment to mental health and kindness.
A huge thank you to the SPHE department, PE department, our 6th year LCA class and our Chaplin for their continued enthusiasm for promoting positive mental health. We encourage all students and staff to get involved and help spread kindness throughout our school!
