Larkin’s Creative Corner Book Celebration
Today was a special day of celebration for a talented group of JCSP students who entered a creative writing competition last March for literacy week. This was part of our JCSP initiatives for the school year. A vast collection of short stories, essays and poems, full of imagination and creativity were put together into a book called “Larkin’s Creative Corner”
Mr. Usher presented each student who submitted an entry with a copy of the book and congratulated their efforts. A very special book that is a true testament to our students talents. We have put a big emphasis on literacy this year in partnership with the JCSP and our school library to encourage our students to read and be creative. A huge thank you to all the students who contributed stories and art work to illustrate the book. Thank you to Geraldine in TY for designing the cover of the book. Also, thank you to Ms. Kavanagh, Jean and ms. Meehan for facilitating this project.
A “Creative Corner” page has been created on our website with a link to a pdf version of the book. Going forward, we will be adding more samples of good work to this page. We want to create a book of stories each year to showcase our students talents.
